The Susan Show began airing on CVM TV in April 2005. It is the most watched, top rated talk show on Jamaican television that offers an alternative to currently aired local productions, by addressing real issues that highlight the positive side of Jamaican life. The major focus of the programme is to enforce our social responsibility, that of making Jamaica a better place in which to live. The host of the show, Susan Simes, is a confident and knowledgeable hostess with an impressive background of working in the local Jamaican media. The show serves to entertain, inform and educate about life in Jamaica in a creative and positive manner. The theme of the show, “Doing Good in Your Neighbourhood”, reinforces a nationwide objective to make Jamaica a more wonderful place to live!
The Susan Show brings a sense of creativity and style to local television programming, while creating mass appeal to a wide cross-section of the Jamaican audience, of which the primary target ranges between the ages of 18 and 44 years, and is predominantly female. The show keeps abreast of current issues and trends, creates a solid and mutually beneficial partnership with sponsors and provides quality programming highlighting the best of the Jamaican culture and lifestyle. Consequently, the producers are confident of significantly increasing its current viewership by constantly improving the quality of the production.
